I have read this in at least one other source that was talking about how ladies of King Henry VIII"s court were granted one gallon of beer each per day & it said that many noble women would sometimes just pee where they stood. Game of Thrones mirrors this well when Tyrion complains that the city smells of sh#t.
Versailles was so ghastly at times that people were often hit with human feces that was thrown out of the window… apparently, Mary Antoinette was one such victim.
