#20 Maybe someone was pouring old oil or paint down that drain. Could easily see something like that eating the resin away.

"I work as a garden landscaper and dug under a wall 2 feet into earth and found a metal object. It looks to be out of cast iron, and could be 100 years old. Its a Y shaped metal bracket with a latch going through. Its around 7-8 inches in width and weights half a kilo. It was in a small English town."
