Avatar is not about bad people good nature... Its about the destruction of one society just for the minor pleasures of another. A comon and repetitive theme in movies and real history.
Avatar was a repetition of the white hero saga, the outsider becoming one of a foreign group, and of course the best of all of them eventually. This is a tired trope of Hollywood as has been seen many times in such films as The Last Samurai & Dances with Wolves to name just a few. It dazzled in special effects and musical score however.
"white" hero saga? youre half right, it IS about an outsider learning about what theyre about to destroy and instead becoming a part of that society and preserving it, is ferngully a white hero saga as well? this virtue signal cr#p is too much
I had to stop reading about halfway through the posts. It's like, every comment was from someone who didn't get it. In most cases, it's clear, the commenter just lacks the emotional depth to understand the movie.
“It might be good as a separate story but it can hardly be called a screen version of the book — it has nothing in common with the novel from the characters to the plot itself.”
