#11 Either I'm old or someone's really stupid to not know that that's a wall-mounted ashtray.

Governor, Yeah, I'm 73yo so I knew immediately what it was. But, smoking inside buildings hasn't been allowed for quite a few years, so kids today wouldn't have any idea. Just like something that I saw on TV, kids were given a rotary phone and told that it was a phone and gave them 10 minutes to make a call. None of them could figure it out. To us, it seems simple, but EVERYTHING is simple if you know how to use it.

"My great grandpa, an Iowa native and WW2 veteran, passed away and left behind this tool or decorative piece. It is solid metal, has no markings, and weighs a few ounces. Screwdriver is for scale."

A: "I think your grandfather might have known someone in the Navy. Those are used in a ceremony when crossing over the equator. So I think your grandfather is what you refer to as a shellback. That is someone who’s been over the equator."
