I'm from the midwest (Indiana) - never heard the expression OPE - not even once. Good post though.

same, mn here. i hear "oops" in place of an "excuse me" sometimes, but never this "ope" thing.

That "ope" thing is like us Canadians supposedly saying "Eh" all the time. I don't know anybody who says that except Bob and Doug McKenzie.
