That kind of a mouse wasn’t used by anyone except for the people that conceptualized the mouse. When the GUI matured a mouse became necessary but the first mass produced one looked a lot like what we have today except it had a ball on the bottom side and it was wired. In before “thanks boomer.”

The ones on the top/left still work while the ones on the bottom/right are mostly broken.
