That kind of a mouse wasn’t used by anyone except for the people that conceptualized the mouse. When the GUI matured a mouse became necessary but the first mass produced one looked a lot like what we have today except it had a ball on the bottom side and it was wired. In before “thanks boomer.”

The ones on the top/left still work while the ones on the bottom/right are mostly broken.

Vacuum cleaners were first invented in the ’60s of the 19th century. And the models we are used to, with an electric engine, were presented at the beginning of the 20th century.
