#20 i installed about 800 of those things at my last job and they work quite well. there are screw holes on the back of most monitors for brackets to fit something such as this, is VERY commonplace. the issue lies within the poster not understanding how to properly secure a couple hundred dollar investment to a monitor stand that will withstand you pushing and pulling the monitors to adjust the position of the arms. hence a bracket, screws and screw holes to couple them together. the picture is just a display showing that this is what it would look like with two monitor sized objects placed here, like the crappy cardboard computers on office furniture dash

I think the point is they are mounting on the display side of the monitors instead of the backs.
