Valerie, It's the air conditioning recirculation button. Cools the car down quicker also uses more fuel.

#10 That's a solar water heater. They must be in a very hot and sunny place, and the shade reduces the amount of direct sunlight hitting the collector. The water will still be heated, but it won't boil and the equipment won't be damaged by pressure or heat.
