Paul, follow the link under the image. In the pic izismile used the purse changes from white to black, but the underwear does too.

In The Silence of the Lambs, the characters talking to Clarice usually look directly into the camera, right at the viewers.
This was probably done in order for the audience to associate themselves with the girl, rather than with her male colleagues.
