When I was a student I worked at retail/front desk/barista etc. you name it. If somebody did not show the most basic manners or started screaming, yelling, getting a hissy fit or tantrum I was allowed and embraced to tell them to f#*k off. Btw I am in Europe. I Could imagine one getting sued for that in the USA. This 'customer is allways right' thing is just bad and produces horrible abusive people.
#16 I had a boyfriend who did this all the time. He thought he was ALWAYS given $5 bills as change to force him to leave a larger tip, so he left nothing. Saddest part was $5 was very rarely even 15%. I always tried to slip a tip to the waitress somehow without him seeing it. The worst time was when he made a huge scene on a busy Friday night at the movies for being shortchanged one single penny because she ran out of them and hadn’t been restocked yet. He made a huge line wait until the very busy floor manager could bring over more pennies. He accused the cashier of doing that to everyone on purpose to increase revenue. Yeah, the 16 yr old high school student cashier. AND it turned out that she gave him a nickel instead of the penny to make up for not having pennies. What a major douche.
