#10 is the perfect passive aggressive insult. My mother used to always buy me clothes that were minimum 4 sizes too big. She always said she thought I dressed too "tight"

My Dad had my husband for the Christmas gift exchange and called me about what to get him. He asked what kind of phone my husband had, and I told him SPECIFICALLY that it was NOT an Iphone when he asked. The gift was an otter box for an IPhone. Nice but obviously a re-gift since my dad didn't really care at all. My husband traded it to a friend who had that kind of phone for a gram of weed.

When I got married in 1967, 53 years ago, we explained to both sets of parents that we would not be giving or accepting gifts for any occasion. So many stupid traditions. I'm not talking about ill intended gifts. Just the act of having to give someone something that they don't want or need. If I want something, I will go buy it. Guaranteed to be the right size and color. My wife and I have never exchanged gifts.

When the kids came along, if they wanted to get them something, fine. Grandparents do buy grandkids presents. But, I wasn't going to go out and buy them something and pretend it came from the kids. Presents are FOR kids, not FROM kids!!! Never had problems.
