Elisa, Sometimes, it can't be avoided. I, too, was married 23 years. Then, one night she says, "I've decided that I don't want to be married anymore". What do you do when you hear that and there's nothing she's willing to discuss. I hope you folks have made it through the change. Anyway, I said, "Fine. But, this is my home and I'm not leaving. This is my kids home. They're not leaving. If this is the way it has to be, let me introduce you to the road!". She's been gone for 31 years and I'm still single. My daughter said that her and her brother only wondered why I didn't do it 5 years earlier. But, I didn't do it. It was done to us!

Yep my wife and I celebrated 24 years together this past Monday. Sad that more people can't stay together and keep the love that brought them together to begin with. The secret is forgiveness, in all the big and small things, on a daily basis.

I notice a number of these imply that one is getting rid of a problem. I'll wager that in many cases the problem remains and will surface again in the next relationship.
