The forbidden city in Beijing is a little misleading, that place is huge, you will need an entire day just to walk through it and you will miss a lot. Also book a VIP tour guide, else you will waste a lot of time standing in queues. It is definitely worth it if you are interested in Chinese culture, history or if you just like to watch people. Also visit Tiananmen square just across the street. (Use the underpass to get across).

Mitch,
You're obviously not a very happy person. There was absolutely zero wrong with Thaney's comment. In fact some might find it very helpful.

Andrew,

Awww, the "you must be a miserable person" argument to lift yourself on high ground with your reasonable and ethical comment. Poor Thaney, he can be so happy to got you on his side now.

I appreciate Thaney's comment, not just for sharing the experience, but for accidentally identifying the rude whole Mitch who clearly should seek therapy

Timothy, Timothy, Me too. I appreciate someone taking the time to share their experience on a place I'd like to travel to one day.

Very interesting about the Forbidden City. A picture is always worth a thousand words, but if words were worthless, pictures would be too! 1000 X 0 =0. I'll keep Thaney's advice in mind if I ever go to China. Also, it lessens my worries if I don't. I don't like long lines.
