Cornelia, do you mean the _Allman_ brothers? I believe they are from florida. But they aren't better than REM in any case. aside from that, there is so much wrong with this list... e.g. Aerosmith from New Hampshire? errrr... no.
Hosea, Aerosmith is definitely from New Hampshire. Joey Kramer, drummer, born in the Bronx NYC, grew up in Enfield, N.H. His family still has a lake house on Masacoma Lake. Joe Perry and Steven Tyler spent their childhood summers on Lake Sunapee, 30ish miles away from Masacoma Lake. There was a hangout club called The Barn where local bands would perform. Joe Perry and Steven Tyler had a gig there and met Tom Hamilton, who joined the band. Brad Whitford was born and raised in Winchester, Mass. Minutes from New Hampshire. All of them combined played the bar, club, and summer music fest circuits in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
So, yeah, Aerosmith IS from New Hampshire. All of them still have residences there, and Joey Kramer has a coffee business out in Durham.
well... per wikipedia (and my own knowledge) ... "Aerosmith is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1970" ... per the rock and roll hall of fame ... "In the 1970s, the Boston-bred quintet played a major role in establishing the fundamentals of hard rock." soooo... you wanna quibble...
Hosea,Hosea, Ooooh gosh! 1970 as per the RRHF! lol They were playing The Barn in '67. That's in New Hampshire. They based in Boston only at the end of 1969 when they shared a studio apartment and lived off peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. To this day, every one of them hates peanut butter. Ask the RRHF if they know that. lol
