#15 - good info (though technically it's "venomous") but there is a snake in Florida that looks like a viper - called a watersnake - but it's not venomous. Left my garage open a bit and one came in my garage - I used a shovel to lift it out thinking it was venomous but turns out it wasn't

In Florida you also have the very very shy but very very venomous Coral snake, which looks nothing like a pit viper.

#15 I don't see myself checking for a single or double row of subcaudal plates below the snake's anal plate when confronted by it ... but okay. dirol

#10 The "log cabin" structure is much easier to build and allows for better airflow. You can also more easily set wet wood around the perimeter to dry.
