It sounds gross but if you're every having problems with your intestines and need to go this way, keep them in mind.

I thought they were more widely used in The Netherlands. They are pretty common here.
More likely the design is to use less water.
I never thought about taking samples.
But you don't splash your butt with dirty water when taking a huge dump!
