Sure, waste government funds on this kind of stuff, rather than teach the homeless how to care for themselves. Socialism gone mad.

Austin,
As much as one would wish that all homeless were homeless because no one ever told them about benefits of dutiful employment, reality is as such that there are broken people out there and they will be risking grievous injury nightly during winter months.

Sheldon, definitely not all Americans think like this. Thankfully, the majority are not like the self-serving pricks you see on this site. They exist here, yes, but are mostly just loud- mouthed relics of an outdated past.

Brad, this is the problem right here. A complete lack of understanding, and thinking that anything provided by the gov means the country will turn into North Korea. What you don’t even seem to realize is that people like myself, who pay huge sums of taxes, DO want our taxes going to universal social programs for the betterment of humanity. You can’t possibly justify a system where rapists and murderers get free healthcare, but many regular tax paying citizens do not. And that’s just one small issue.

Martin,
Statism - the most dangerous religion in existence.
Everything run by the state is way too expensive and underperforming
because of lack of competition.
Look at the Postal service - and you want to have more of that?!?

Edit: Commiefornia is good to the homeless, Commiefornyaya so good to the homeless...

Seems to me that these pods encourage homeless people to remain isolated, rather than go to shelters where they can obtain food, medical and mental health care.

futuristic indeed - they kinda look like coffins.
one can only wonder why ppl aren't treated equally - the ones that get food and shelter after speaking the magic word 'asylum' - and the ones that don't: the natives.

The shelters are meant to be used only in emergencies and are not an alternative to regular housing

“For this winter, we modified details of our door in an effort to improve usability both for the people sleeping in the Nests and the Social Workers checking in on them. Also, we spent a good deal of time improving insulation and climate management, to be able to keep humidity and temperature at the best possible levels while operating on a limited budget of energy. Related to this, we also improved the connected-ness of the Nests by integrating them into the Ulm city’s own wireless IoT network,” the Ulmer Nest team member shared the high-tech details of the capsules.
