#15 a VCR might sound like an out of date choice, but for cheap viewing you can still get a lot of tapes for around $1. Their condition might be another matter. Just wish they'd choose a format and stick with it.
#23 unlikely to be true...If a drug dog has a false hit, they are decertified and ALL of their previous cases are subject to appeal. It almost never happens. These animals are consummate professionals with an insane amount of training.
Day, the dog's alert is what gives the police probable cause to conduct a search. If the dog has a false hit, it calls into question what caused the alert. So previous cases where drugs were found, they would argue that the search was illegal based on not really having probable cause. Thus, the found drugs could be ruled to be inadmissible evidence. Unless the police had other evidence, an illegal search is grounds for dismissal of the charges. It is /very/ bad when a drug dog has a false hit.

how do you appeal the fact that drugs were found in previous cases? Or are people being jailed solely on the fact that the dog barked at them now?
