It started as WW ll - these are two lowercase L, which looks very similar to uppercase i.
Then somebody put it all in uppercase - because this is the way memes are 'printed', to allow people which cannot read lowercase to have fun, too.

Sir Humphrey Davy demonstrated that diamonds will degrade to graphite in 1813, admittedly he did have to burn one to prove it. Diamonds are a high energy metastable state of carbon (formed by pressure, heat and time), the laws of physics and entropy mean that, when no longer under heat or pressure and over a long enough time, they will decay to the lowest energy state - back to graphite
