"When I worked for FedEx back in the 90’s one of the reasons why they chose Anchorage as a global hub (apart from the fact that aircraft use less fuel due to it being cooler) was that it is one of the only places in the world that is within 10 hours of the three biggest global markets; North America, Europe and Asia!
Who would have thought that a place considered in the middle of nowhere is actually the centre of the world."

You're an idiot.
Toronto is 4° south of Seattle.
Well well well... Invade us now! Muah ha ha...
#17 Chicago is farther east than Memphis.
Norwegians have problems seeing this the other way.
They don't understand how much further south than us most of the US is.
I live at 59.28N, so a bit south of anchorage compared to the rest of the US.
The south of Norway is way closer to me compared to the north.
Thank god we have the "gulf stream" bringing heat up to us.... then circle around Greenland before giving the east of the US cold water :P
Living on the coast, we could have 50F any day of the year. Pretty sure Anchorage does not stay at 50F in the winter :)
