#9 - that would depend on what country you are from. No one in the US is going to pronounce BMW as Bee Em Vee - it's Bavarian Motor Works so there is no Vee. Nor would we pronounce Volkswagen as Fokes Fah Gun - there is no F sound

Harry, The V! and BMW are german (as you probably well know), and the V is pronounced as F. Hence Folksvagen (people's wagon) and Be Em Ve is the *proper* way to pronounce the names. ;-)

Tine, yeah, I know the reasoning but it doesn't change the way it is pronounced. I'm just pointing out that we aren't mispronouncing it.
