Born in 1961, not quite a boomer or a true milly. Youngest son of three, expected to take care of parents in their old age. Continually being financially abused by my remarried mother, who expected me to "suck it up" every time they screwed me.
The last straw was getting me fired when they had a "drunk fight" as I left my career job to "keep him from killing her", they were both passed out by the time I got to their home in the 20 minutes it took to drive the distance.
They put me 100K in debt. After Mom passed, the FIL still won't give me details of her passing, no momento's, ashes from cremation, pictures for her grandkids- nothing. A complete horror story here. F@#k you, Roger Rodriguez (FIL), Hawaiian acres,(5th and "c" rd) Puna, Hawaii.

Indie, it's actually less of an American generational issue and more of a conservative vs liberal issue and since Europe is a couple of decades ahead of us in liberalism, yes, it's foreign to you.

Hey, Roderick, explain how this is a "conservative vs liberal" issue?
Because it sure seems like you missed the bus or were thrown under it at some point in your life.

Nib, Nib, it just requires an ability to question the dumbed down stereotyping narrative that you're so accustomed to consuming. You should at least try it sometime - you'll find that a great deal of what you think you know is rubbish.

80's here, I grew up on a farm, rode horses, worked on a farm and then went to college, now I work 60 hour work weeks and travel a lot for my job.
Been bankrupt twice, pulled myself up from tragedy. I bust my @$$ everyday.
This is not a conservative thing or a liberal thing, nor a generation thing.
Every generation has a patch of stupid people, no one generation is better than the other.

well, I'm from 1981 and in center Europe.
At my workplace (over 100 ppl) is clearly visible what is about.
Millenials do not say even HI in the mornings - they prefer to pass you by looking in a different direction. On every break, they spent all their time alone with the phones while the older generations gather in small groups and talks and have fun together.
For me is a bit strange that they do not even socialize with the same age group?
Another story from New Year night: 2 generations - we over 40 - play, drunk, dance and party like there is no tommorow - and millenials room - everyone laying on the couch with phones wtf

A lot of boomers came out of the war and changed the world for the better, but also started the wheels of corruption in the American government that sadly will never be reversed. Their runaway greed will kill us all.
