Most of those stories are hilarious and I've been on the receiving end of mansplaining often enough, but to be fair, I know a couple of women who will "mansplain" EVERYTHING to you as well... it's more about character than gender.

People who identify idiotic explaining as mansplaining are expressing their failure to grasp the idiotic personality behind the "man", which manifests in women as well. I agree with Tibbie above.

Men are horrible. Men need to ask women about flowers, and dresses, and doing their fingernails, and ask them about how horribly they were treated simply because they are women. Until ALL men are fully feminized this world is going to be a rotten place to live.

What is it called the other way around? I got so much explaining about cooking and backing, even in my kitchen surrounded by my staff of my own michelin star awarded restaurant, by my mother aunts, grandmothers etc.

I never tell a woman how to do something. I assume that if she has a question, she will ask. Even when they might step off a curb and into traffic I don’t say STOP, or LOOK OUT, because there’s always the danger that you’ve now mansplained.

#6 She needs to have mansplaining mansplained to her. The doctor was just trying to calm her nerves, if she was nervous about the procedure. It’s called “bedside manner”.

Unfortunately, belittling mansplaining is real, though. I work in the tech industry and it’s rampant. And it’s not awkwardly hitting on women, it’s 100% about being a d@#k and making sure the “little woman” knows who the real expert in her field (even though he is usually clueless in that field). It’s super cringe and totally unnecessary.
