I can confirm IT-industry. It is acutally quicker to google than figuring it out. Nowadays, there is a forum post for everything.

Indie,

should we construe your statement as confession of your incompetence in the subject?

Indie, yup. I'm pretty sure 95% or more of all software being developed today contain some code from stackexchange and/or similar sites. And there is nothing wrong with that; the employer/client cares about getting the job done, not how it's done. Google is just a big step in the direction of a hive mind. No reason to keep all the info on each small one.

#35 I do recall, "someone" jumped out of the window while screaming:-"The Russians are coming. The Russians are coming. They're right around. I've seen Russian soldiers." - never gets old.

"In Microsoft office, word specifically, you can upload recorded interviews and it will transcribe it and ever have speaker one and speaker two, three and four! Basically, eliminating a huge annoying part of the job."

"I know a lot of people get annoyed when a store employee pushes the credit card, but at the kids clothing store I worked at, if you didn’t get at least x amount per day they cut our hours. I wasn’t pushing you a sh@#ty credit card to be an @$$hole, I was scared to lose my hours."

"I'm in Cybersecurity and deal mostly with the largest companies and government's in the world. Every one of them has been breached, to carrying degrees, by the Russians and Chinese. Almost daily. It's not a matter of if they'll get in It's a matter of how long they'll be there, and how much damage they'll do, before you find them."
