Elsie, The island is divided between France and The Netherlands. Maho Beach is on the Sint Maaten side belonging to The Netherlands. Saint Martin is on the other side of the island, belonging to France. The picture of the plane going over Maho Beach is landing at Princess Juliana International Airport located in Sint Maarten.
