Jimmie, Not true, life can be full of purpose and meaning but you have to work at it and become the director of your destiny. It's not easy, because that's how life always is and always has been. You have but one life and though you might of been handed a bad lot, through faith in yourself, commitment, patience and a lot of work you can go very far and have a satisfying and decent life. Never give up and seek help. I recommend you read 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson. Get busy.
