It's not about control, rejection or any of that BS up there. IF you get anything, get something that matches your energy level and ability to spend time. Between the two dogs require much more energy, attention and love than most cats. Cats are a more passive pet, still very loving and they do need care, but they are content to be left alone too. Dogs are better for kids than cats.
