Its probably for diabetic or other conditions where low blood sugar can cause fainting etc. when poked by a needle. Plus, candy cant be given as a " good job" treat in most medical facilities (no matter now good the kid is), so it has to be packaged and percribed. Trust me you dont want to know how expensive it really is... waaaay worse than hotel candy.
