And setting your social media account on private won't shield you from this happening because your friends and family can --and do, inadvertently mention your whereabouts in public settings. More often than not, home robberies occur when the criminal gets a whiff of where you aren't and what you've got via the friends in your circle who innocently blab. They may not know you firsthand, but they got it from the grapevine. Even your friends kids pickup on it, and if they've got a drug problem or their buddies do? It's easy target for them to burgle your home for liquor, prescription drugs, electronics, collections, etc. Regardless of an alarm system. Smash, grab, and dash.
