Koi are still carp, they do not require pure water to live, you just won't see them as well, on the contrary they are bottom feeders and can even survive in poorly oxygenated water.

no wonder Japanese tourists take so many pictures, they go home and say to their friend "no sh#t, look how these people live, they're absolutely barbaric, a total freak show.

i totally get why they've never wanted outsiders there, they may very well be the last civilized people on the planet

Ellie,

... those civilized people were practicing cannibalism during WW II. Give 'em a chance and they will eat brain of live people again, no ifs or buts about that.

#24 And they walk on the left side of the sidewalk, hallway, stairs, etc. It's because they drive on the left side of the road.

Also in Japan, on my 2 month stay i noticed men purchasing dirty panties from a machine like it was normal, my best friend (born and raised Hong Kong) while i was there told me she was constantly inappropriately touched on metros, most boys are kinda weak and more into gaming than being social/going out, and sadly a lot of people are sad/depressed because they cant meet "societies standards". Also, I personally noticed a lot of people were impatient with me when I was trying to understand their customs.

Still.. Japans kinda pretty. Way too many people though

Japan Is A Super Clean Country

The cleanliness on the streets, in buildings, and on public transportation may surprise you if you’re not used to it, but in Japan, cleanliness is a lifestyle. What is more, spaces are kept tidy not by hiring more staff to do it, but the residents themselves keep it that way. Japanese people are taught from a young age to clean up after themselves. For 12 years while they’re at school, cleaning their environment is a part of the daily routine, so the habits the Japanese acquire remain their whole lives and even if they aren’t really up to cleaning, they still do it out of a sense of duty and responsibility.
