If most of these were written today, they'd be put in to fortune cookies. Metaphorical logic is clever, but not very accurate. There are a million circumstances surrounding our lives and how they were, how they are, and where they're going. In these sayings, there's a subtle shame to be taken if you're unable to "put down the mountain" or "leave port on your ship" and the real winner of how every bit of happiness should be balanced out equally by the same amount of pain? What tripe. NO ONE can or should determine how you're handling your life at present. You could trump all of these with one simple sentiment. "You're not living MY life. How would you know?" The one from Captain Picard (science fiction) made the most sense. How ironic is that? So forget all this. Do you best, and ignore such supposed words of wisdom that belong on plague in a garage sale for fifty cents.

Cilla,

OR, wherever you find meaning, even if it's in something someone doesn't believe in, follow it anyway.
"Another person's path is not yours."

Plaque not plague. Not all quotes are for all people. Don't see one you like? Perhaps you get your inspiration elsewhere. Doesn't mean it's wrong.

This is all good to hear. I get tired of toddlers in adult bodies crying about how unfair life has been to them. Shut up, Get up, turn Off the anti-social media, and try again and again until you succeed. The temper tantrum of toddlers, Cilla, does NOT a great country make.
