Just had a friend die of melanoma that was caught early and treated correctly. So there's that.

Wilfred,Well my three cousins died from melanoma and they didn't even tan or go outside at all.

There are certain industries, chemicals in use that are able to cause nonmelanoma skin cancer that can still be lethal as well. Arsenic, tar, mineral oil.. to name a few.

My dad died last year of melanoma, which despite intense medical intervention reached stage 4. He had brain and lung secondary tumors. His was a tolerably decent death managed by the palliative care team. Still died of melanoma.
