Nothing about a place that builds it's cities below sea level can be called an example of "smart infrastructure".

Manda,

Yeah... OR, just like everyone else on earth, we just settled in a certain location because of a huge variety of reasons, mostly based on "we can live here" thousands of years ago and just made it work... I highly doubt early settlers in the bronze age thought: "Hmm, we obviously don't know this because we have have no idea about future borders, but maybe we shouldn't live here because part of the land a long way away could overflow..."

And anyone that could build cities below sea level seems pretty smart to me...

And the pic has nothing to do with being below sea level or not. There are rivers with heavy boat traffic intersecting with roads literally everywhere on earth. This is just a smart alternative of what was there before, a bridge that could be raised which meant that either boats or cars had to wait. Now, both can be on their merry way freely.
How is that not smart?

Manda, Nothing about someone who uses incorrect grammar and punctuation can be called an example of 'smart anything' while they're ridiculing others for not being 'smart'. If I may:

in this case, it's *its*. The apostrophe is not used in the possessive form. That's how it's distinguished from *it is* when one is indicating possession. For example, '...It's building its cities below sea level...'

Quotation marks are used to indicate spoken words/phrases/sentences, etc. They are not used for *emphasis*. Emphasis is indicated more conventionally by using 'single quotation marks' or more recently by using *asterisks*. But quotation marks are *never* used.

Also, if I lived in a country that beautiful, I wouldn't care where it was built. Finally, I have been told that the gross income per capita in the Netherlands is the highest, or among the highest, in the world. Sounds like a very smart country to me.

Or build cities in earthquake zones, or flood plains, or avalanche and mud slide zones ...

Douglas, it seems like I've chosen the wrong Avatar-picture. I like Jensen and I miss Supernatural.

1. They live close to support each other, like carsharing, so theres no need for everyones car.
2. Also danish people use very often bikes as linke as the netherlands.
3. Denmark has a firstclass puplic transportation system
