#24... These type of venting A/C units should be outlawed. The volume of air being blown out the window, in order to cool the unit, has to be drawn in from somewhere. Unless that somewhere is already cooled the incoming air will be warmer, thus as much as you cool the room you also re-heat it

Cathy,
They are terribly inefficient. The hose gets incredibly warm, heating the room. There is a little relief right at the part where it blows cold, but fans and cold compresses would probably be better.

Shaina,

At first I didn't know what those were. You'd scream if you actually saw this. I saw a pic on another site outdoor dining curbside with those exact portable ac units set up outside the curb. What a waste of resources for a tiny bit of comfort. The same people think we should drive electric vehicles instead of gas, but take jets to climate summits.

As someone Having researchd them th Double Hose models are more efficient. That can be increased by buying the insulated hoses from somewhere like ACE hardwear or the crony capitalists at Menards. I haven't seen them at Home Depot...
The stand alone room insulated hose double hose units are more efficient than forced air one or multi ton units. Do your own Research. Don't use 'em outside!
