A kick in the nuts is more satisfying than a witty comeback.

It is rare that I get insulted but when I do I simply tell them I don't have to consume what comes our of their mouths. It helps that I'm a well built guy and have self deprecating humor so it's usally pretty funny.

When someone I know gets insulted I ask them if they would take advice from that person. If the answer is no then they shouldn't take criticism either.
