#1 chedar prevents nothing. if moth's woyld be afraid of chedar they would have died out a long time ago.

#2 not sure it would work. cars have safety glasses which prevent shattering. you can buy special purpose hammers though.

The scent of the oil in cedarwood deters moths and stops them from chomping on our clothes.
