salamoon,

What is common and obvious for some may be invisible or hard to do for others.
And we all can use a remembering from time to time.

#1 there are an awful lot of articles and compilations about being married and having kids...here's a shocker, if your kids are exhausting and tiresome, the problem is you, not them, if your marriage is dead ended and dull, same thing, because it's your marriage, too. Look to your own self before you start condemning the whole idea of having a family. Instead, you like to act like having a family is to be suffering 24 - 7. So keep pushing that narrative and teach the world a little more narcissism, because that's how you end up abandoned in a nursing home by family who's had enough of you. As for no family at all and telling yourself that's fine? Yeah, OK. Good luck with that. At the end, you die alone, clutching some nurses hand who is waiting for you to die or for her shift to end. If you think you'll be surrounded by 'friends' and they're your family? You're wrong. Family IS all that counts, not you, and you're an ignorant fool if you think otherwise. All you can hope for now is that they let your cats and Iphone attend your funeral.

Cilla,

Not everyone needs or wants a family. Someone is not a fool if they want something different than you.

Cilla,

Cilla,

I call bs. You can find friends and be very close to them, like a family. You can have a sh#tty family or no family at all and still be happy. And you can live a happy life without having kids, no matter if you could not have kids or you chose not to.
Different people are different. If this is your opinion, Cilla, it's fine. But don't act like it's an universal truth.

Jennifer, our mistake is in thinking that Reddit users are adults but the majority are preteens that think they have life figured out.

Everything becomes clear with hindsight. Meanwhile we must manage the best we can.

I can only add one to this good list of advice, travel the world. It is the most rewarding experience one can get.

#4 I have learend that apologising is merely a question of how you value the relationship to the person you apologize to. It is not a question wether you are right or wrong. Saved my marriage...
