He is highly acclaimed by audiences for his role as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and its prequel trilogy as well, The Hobbit. He also appeared as the mutant Magneto in the X-Men saga, another character highly appreciated by Marvel fans. Before achieving fame, he played a leading role in Priest of Love (1981).
