Jorge, 430 homicides in Chicago so far this year. 30% of the population is black. 75% of the victims were black. 70% of the perpetrators were black. 22% of the black homicides were solved.
I don't want to say that there are no criminals with them, but have you ever thought that these statistics are only due to the fact that you don't want to suspect white people?
i still cannot understand this racism in our modern times. I am German, three of my four grandparents had problems with the Nazis: My mother's mother was the daughter of a German-Scottish refugee from Russia after the First World War, she was actually given the choice of either working for the military or a concession camp, at the time she was just 16. Her husband was the son of a nobleman who was thrown into the gutter by his father because his mother could not prove her German ancestry. The father of my father was the son of an artist who was sent to re-education camp for his degenerate art and died there. I don't know anything about his mother's family, it's as if they never existed, maybe she just didn't want to be reminded of them. Nevertheless, we as Germans are insulted as Nazis even today, when in many other countries there is still just as much racist worldview as we did back then, but we should be ashamed ...
Hezekiah, in the US it’s not really “racism” that is the problem - not too many people discriminate against others because of the color of their skin. But in the US we have a diverse population so there is some “culturalism” - some cultures here quite honestly are horrible. Some cultures appeal to people with low IQ and they embrace horrible values which a country cannot endure - and these people want the rest of the country to go down to their level as opposed to improving themselves.
if the IQ is the problem, something could be done about it, Confucius once said: if you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Personally, I would therefore say: If you teach a person what to think it will help them for the moment, but if you teach them to think for themselves it will help them for the rest of their life. I believe that Socrates once tried to teach people this too.
I know this is a global problem so we should all give it a thought
That is an incorrect statement at best or a blatantly over simplification at worst.
The issue wasn't the masks, but HOW masks were utilized during the Spanish Flu. There were a lot of factors involved such as the lack of social distancing, masks not being used indoors, incorrect usage, coverings made of ineffective materials, and spotty adoption just to name a few. Sadly, we're still dealing with all of these factors today.
