#9 I grew up in a fruit growing area. It has always been and always will be a treat. As a kid, there was nothing better than cold watermelon with salt on a hot dehydrating day, fresh orange juice at breakfast, wild picked blackberry cobbler, homemade fig preserves on buttered toast, etc. I'm thinking who ever made that quote just doesn't have access to good fruit! Now I'm hungry and am going to have an apple smeared with peanut butter. As a treat.
Likewise, my grandfather had fruit and nut trees and when we'd visit, there'd always be a ton of fruit to eat like plums and apricots. His orange tree never seemed to produce, but he almost drowned us in macadamia nuts. They are hard to open and raw they are not as great as when they've been roasted. Tried to that in the oven and failed miserably. Almonds for days too.
