Sandy, Could it be that the rubbish company was planning to replace that container due to wear? Wouldn't the customer call to get a replacement (if that were not the case) and actually get one fairly soon?
for us in the uk, we tend to get replacement on the day they pick up, and it's an actual delivery truck in charge of replacements, not a bin truck. but you have to request and eventually pay for it
