#52 I think a lot of lever-type door handles rotate clockwise *or* counterclockwise. So if you had just tried to move the lever up on the inside, it would have been no problem. I might be wrong, but...
Phillip, I've met 3 of my 4 wives while they were demonstrating their fish tackle skills in a BIG5 Sporting Goods store... and 90% of the time, they were ALL keepers! (Don't try to add up my numbers, the CoorsLight is doing the math!)

Here in Europe I have only seen clockwise rotating lever-type door handles. I have heard that they can rotate both ways in the USA.
