Take TSA's liquids rules seriously.

#3 Eh, nope. Some Airlines do have a weight limit for personal bags and they can be really anal about it too.

Many airlines have a carry-on weight restriction of 7 kg and they are strict about it. I prefer to check-in and pay extra for priority baggage service whenever this option exists. It is always a good option to have one change of clothes in your carry-on just in case the checked in luggage gets delayed. Most airlines fill seats (in the economy) from the rear of the aircraft so you simply can't board early unless you have a Gold/Platinum membership of the airlines!
