Sooo, this a post with things that are outdated things? Yes... That happens to everything. The steam engine was once the greatest invention ever. Now outdated. And everything that's cutting edge technology now will one day be as obsolete as the steam engine. Might I suggest a post about up and coming tech few know about that likely will be "Heroes" in the near future? More interesting than basically a list of common knowledge.
Gert, It's post about nostalgia, about the good things the human race accomplished, about looking back and seeing a lower stage booster that propelled us in the present, as well as imagining the future.
Midge, yeah, seems like some companies are making flip-phones (or foldable devices as they call them now) great again.
Midge, probably the specific GPS devices is what they are referring to here. Picture a Nokia 6xxx with a slightly larger screen. Cr#ppy black/white pixelated stuff. Those are long gone. We all have the GPS in our phones and cars now. :-)
#9 I have a whole case of unused zip-drives for internal PC mounting that I took over when the company I worked for went bankrupt (not related to the Zip-drives). Maybe some inernal parts can be used for something.....
Yeah, Flip Phones are coming back in an alternate form. Its always been a good idea; protects the phone. And CDs are still a really good idea, only a fool fails to have hard copies of their music and movies.
#3 T9 is basically what glide typing is today #4 Cordless phones - flash forward A COUPLE OF YEARS? More like 20 years #10 IR is used in many smartphones today as a universal remote controller #18 GPS industry is HUGE even today
Long story short, whoever wrote this article knows very little about technology
