...but then again, you could cut off the bottom, snip off the gourd at the neck, and push it through. Guess it depends on the bottle, so I didn't think my first comment through.

Louis, actually you did. There are several narrowed portions along the length of the bottle, so there'll be no "pushing through". A straight-sided bottle might work, and a tapered one wider at the bottom would be ideal.
