Actually, the Livestock Guardian breeds should be mentioned. These dogs are incredibly smart and almost completely un-trainable. They should never be pets! The wonderful dogs are meant to ferociously protect livestock. If used for in a home they will protect the children, even against the parents. And, unfortunately, the parents will blame the dog. The ultra loyal dog.

I'm sorry that Siberian Huskies didn't make the list. Mine thinks better than some people I know, and seems to be quite capable of reasoning out problems. She's also a practical joker, and she fits her humor to the person she's pranking.

Keeshond

This adorable silver fluff, known as the Keeshond, hails from Holland and is closely related to the German Spitzes. Previously known as the Dutch Barge Dog, this breed was a symbol of the Patriotic faction in the Netherlands during political unrest in the 18th century. Keeshonden, being incredibly quick learners, might learn things their owner didn't intend to teach them. Besides being highly intelligent, these dogs are also very intuitive and empathetic, thus are often used as comfort or therapy dogs.
