I had a Cocker Spaniel. I named him Joe. Joe Cocker Spaniel. :)

Actually, the Livestock Guardian breeds should be mentioned. These dogs are incredibly smart and almost completely un-trainable. They should never be pets! The wonderful dogs are meant to ferociously protect livestock. If used for in a home they will protect the children, even against the parents. And, unfortunately, the parents will blame the dog. The ultra loyal dog.

I'm sorry that Siberian Huskies didn't make the list. Mine thinks better than some people I know, and seems to be quite capable of reasoning out problems. She's also a practical joker, and she fits her humor to the person she's pranking.
Dachshund

However, before choosing a Dachshund as a pet, you'd have to know about their notorious stubbornness - it is best to train such a dog with help from a professional. Small, long, and shortlegged, they give the impression of a lazy couch potato-type of breed, when in fact, this breed needs a copious amount of exercise to keep them happy.
