"When visiting my brother who lives in Switzerland, I was surprised at the amount of independence that parents give their children. I'm from the U.K., where most parents wouldn't dream of letting a five year old walk to school alone. My brother and his wife are perfectly happy to let their kids walk to school unsupervised, and the route even includes train tracks."
Well, to each their own obviously. But personally for me there have been no greater experiences or I never learned as much as while travelling. Especially in non western countries. You experience more while being in a culture unlike your own.
This is one of the most American comments ever....Europe is fine, except for all the foreigners.
um okay. Europe is a clusterfuck of countries where you cross a border and they speak a different language and sometimes rape women or boys. no judgment though
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, there were literally over 100 scooters at busy intersections (not an exaggeration).
Thank you for your comment brave, brave Jan.
