#36 the real sad part for a lot of people $.50 might actually be more than they could afford especially if they have a family and 3 jobs just to survive. It's an endless circle of the poor getting poorer and the rich richer. and it makes me so happy that I live in a 3rd world sh#thole and not the US because we are better of.
If I had a family and was working 3 jobs to support them, I wouldn't be spending that money on frivolous things like over priced fast food. Your logic is worrying.
Logic doesn't play into it my friend, as it has been very much established that when a lower income person is - let's say, working three jobs and - unable to spend time either grocery shopping or using said groceries to make food for themselves - they rely on convenient, readily available calories with large quantity of food to give a feeling of being 'full'.
Now - what does that sound like? It sounds like poor people eating fast food. Not rich people stopping for a treat - literally, people that are riding their bicycle from one job to another in the middle of winter stopping to get a whopper just to make it feel like they have something in their belly before the next 6 hour shift...
go experience poverty, then come back and talk logic.
Lucille, this response makes even less sense than the original comment. paying more for a burger doesn't help the server. plus it's just a virtue signaling hack on twitter. Sure it makes sense to eat healthier but thats not a rich/poor issue like they make you believe. i worked at an insurance company and read a billionaire's book, it doesn't matter how much money you make or how little.. EVERY ONE takes the same path to lunch to eat the same food as equals. quit being blind.
Tim, any country where wages aren't high enough that it is possible to survive on them is a 3rd world country. You should not need to rely on "tips" from your customers to make ends meet.
I'll tip if I get food or service a certain level above what is on the persons job description, cause where I live people are paid decently.
