Eric,
I've got four kids. They were doing calculus in high school that I didn't hit until junior year of college. My youngest called up professors at the Colorado School of Mines to help on a paper on thorium. And got it. In 5th grade. When standardized testing got out of hand, their entire grade walked out in protest and brought the state to its knees. Now those tests have been removed. The kids are all right. Maybe you should demand more of your schools and expect more of your kids.

Sceeter,
It's a great school, and the professors could not have been more supportive of my daughter and her questions.

Franklin,

Sounds reasonable.
I was not precise in my words there. Sry.

I live in Eastern Europe. Here the education system is under strict regulations and the teacher cannot bring their own knowledge to the class only specific books are allowed to use. And these books are so stupid, I use my old books and international books for teaching my children.

While this causing more incapable workforce on the market the bigger issue is the students are overloaded with more hours a day than a grown-up could handle causing more stress and less free time for the children. It means less social and less healthy generation.

My prof told me to move to another country if I want at least medium level education for my offsprings.

Eric,
Checking out the parents will give you a pretty good idea of how their children do in school.
